Purpose: Consider the Possibilities

You may already know your calling and purpose…

…but are having a hard time walking it out. Believe me, I know it’s not easy to discover and follow your dreams. It can be very hard to redefine your life when the world expects you to look and act a certain way. It’s hard to face family and friends when you are going against the grain, whether you planned to or not. Self-destructive behaviors, time and resources are our biggest obstacles — life is way too short for fear of what others may think.

“Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Don’t stifle the Spirit. Don’t despise prophecies but test all things. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–22

Ultimately, God is the answer to your problems and mine. I figure if He can speak through a donkey, He can speak through these pages to you. It’s not about who I am or what I have done. It’s about sharing the good, bad, and the ugly with you — fellow human, creative and overcomer. You may not connect with all that I write, and that is okay. My life path has been more challenging than others, yet not nearly as challenging as some. I recognize that. Side note: I’m not perfect as a human–just as a child of God.

Excerpt from my book Hardwired for Purpose: Blazing Trails to Follow God’s Lead from a Creative’s Perspective.
