We’re Hardwired to Love.
Loving is the greatest calling that every Christian must follow. Jesus told us in Scripture, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:7-8).” We believe Love is an important foundation for living a godly life. Love covers a multitude of sins and it breaks open our hardened hearts to receive all the Father has for us (See 1 Peter 4:8).
“Receive” is the key word here. We will only change in co-creation with God when we are ready. It’s getting ready to receive that becomes a problem. People, generalizing here, are against change even when they say they want to change their lives. Change means upsetting the norm and the norm is very comfortable, even when it’s hard.
Think about how many spouses are abused in their relationships and they stay. Sometimes we learned in childhood how to maintain and navigate abusive relationships. Those abusive relationships will be repeated to us and our children if we don’t heal and surrender our participation.
