Recognizing the Victory

Discovering and walking out our Purpose can be difficult, especially if we take our eyes off Jesus. One way to ensure we stay focused is to find and celebrate the first fruits of our efforts. God is faithful to give us strategies for success, but we must engage with Him and receive.

Celebrate every time something happens that is a victory for Godā€™s Kingdom. Let God know how you recognize His hand in your life and that you are eternally grateful. Give God the first ten minutes of your good news before calling your friends and family. He wants to tell you how proud and excited He is that you are seeing positive activity in your life.

And above all God wants you to know and understand how much He loves you. Here are some verses to get started:

Proverbs 3:9-10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Honor the Lord with your wealth. And with the first fruits of all your crops (income); Then your barns will be abundantly filled, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Exodus 34:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)

You shall observe and celebrate the Feast of Weeks (Harvest, First Fruits, or Pentecost), the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering (Booths or Tabernacles) at the yearā€™s end.

Exodus 34:26 Amplified Bible (AMP)

ā€œYou shall bring the very first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of the Lord your Godā€¦.

Leviticus 2:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)

As an offering of first fruits you may offer them [leaven and honey] to the Lord, but they shall not go up [in smoke] on the altar as a sweet and soothing aroma.

Leviticus 23:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

ā€œSpeak to the children of Israel and say to them, ā€˜When you enter the land which I am giving you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the [a]sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.

Nehemiah 12:44 Amplified Bible (AMP)

On that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the first fruits, and the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions required by the law for the priests and the Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who served.

James 1:18 Amplified Bible (AMP)

It was of His own will that He gave us birth [as His children] by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a prime example of what He created to be set apart to Himselfā€”sanctified, made holy for His divine purposes].

1 Corinthians 15:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Order of Resurrection: But now [as things really are] Christ has in fact been raised from the dead, [and He became] the first fruits [that is, the first to be resurrected with an incorruptible, immortal body, foreshadowing the resurrection] of those who have fallen asleep [in death].

Romans 11:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)

If the first portion [of dough offered as the first fruits] is holy, so is the whole batch; and if the root (Abraham, the patriarchs) is holy, so are the branches (the Israelites).

Romans 8:23 Amplified Bible (AMP)

And not only this, but we too, who have the first fruits of the Spirit [a joyful indication of the blessings to come], even we groan inwardly, as we wait eagerly for [the sign of] our adoption as sonsā€”the redemption and transformation of our body [at the resurrection]. ā™„

Creativity: Tips for Creative Expectations

Angel 2, Unfinished by Jana Rawling

Whatā€™s Your End-Game?

Concepts & Messages

Youā€™ll need to know your target audience and have a solid concept before you start your creative work if itā€™s for commercial purposes. The concept will drive the design, so trust your research. If you still arenā€™t sure of the design, go back to research and concept.

If your creative work is for yourself, God or others on-commercially, the concept can be looseā€”though research should still be a serious driving force for creativity. Loose concepts for non-commercial work allows the viewer to participate in the interpretation of the work.

First Break All the Rules

Iā€™ve always told students that you must know the rules before you can break them. You can break them from a position of intelligence or ignorance and professionals can tell the difference.

Get Out of the Box

Research, research and more research can help you to get out of the box you may be in or may want to break through. Research and let it go to allow your subconscious mind to most of the work. When you get back to it, youā€™ll be surprised at how things begin to fall into place.

Holy Spirit & Angelic Helpers

Iā€™m pretty convinced we have access to creative angels and of course, Holy Spirit is always there to guide us in strategy, wisdom and creativity. I always pray and ask before I start work and during the entire creative process. I donā€™t have all the answers and two heads are better than one. ā™„

Art with a Little Help from My Friends

Ask Your Personal Angel for Help

I love to Sculpt with water-based clay. I love the relationship that I build with the clay and the subject as the clay dries and changes in texture and plasticity. I love that thereā€™s a time-factor to finishing the work as it is formed and dries. The clay feels alive and working it is all about developing relationship.

Iā€™ve never tried to add color when finishing figures before, but this one kept calling for it. When I was firing this piece and painting it, I was heavily into studying about angels in Godā€™s Kingdom and army. I have looked at angels before, but this seems to be a renaissance of my ability to see and communicate with them in my life. Itā€™s exciting.

And, the fun part is that as I was sculpting my next angel, I asked for help and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Iā€™ll post him later.

If you would like to know more about angels, look at Blake Healyā€™s books, The Veil and Profound Good.

Humans naturally desire to overcome and those who engage in it proactively grow exponentially in faith, hope & love. ā€œFor everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the worldā€”our faith.ā€ ā€” 1 John 5:4 English Standard Version (ESV) ā™„

Hardwired for Life: Season 1, Episode 17

We are courageous. There are places in life where we donā€™t realize we have courage and we can take pride in our overcoming. Courage is closely related to shame and vulnerability. But Godā€™s abundant grace helps us to get through the toughest situations and live in peace, hope and love daily. ā™„

Creative: Made to be Creative

Excerpt from the Foundations of Love Online Course by Hardwired for Worship School of the He.Arts.

Made in God’s Image

We are all creative whether we believe it or not. We are made in Godā€™s image as creative beings capable of engaging in the phenomenon of making something new and valuable. We are creative at our jobs whether we are mechanics, waiters, painters, or physicians. We can develop new solutions to old problems, if we are willing to apply ourselves to the Creative Process.

When we want to create any change or solve any problem in our life and our relationships, we can use the Creative Process to do it. We can seek to better understand the problem and work through it with a simple step-by-step formula to find solutions. Change is within reach and we are hardwired to learn and grow in Christ Jesus.

We can take the Creative Process further when we work through it with others, such as family. They say that two heads are better than one, and five are better than that and we agree. Teamwork in the right environment is a powerful tool to amplify our creativity. Our solutions will have more depth for more solid foundations. This is how the Kingdom of God and the Body of Christ is designed to work.

The basic Creative Process includes:

  • Exploration and Analysis
  • Ideation and Brainstorming
  • Designing and Planning
  • Developing and Producing
  • Evaluating the Solution for Improvement

Note: Each step of the process is enriched by using imagination and play.

We are hardwired to use our sanctified and righteous imagination to create effective solutions.

The imagination is a powerful, lifegiving tool given to humans to go higher and farther than we ever knew possible. We can launch ourselves into far away galaxies, sail through the stars, dive the oceansā€™ depths, and fly through forests unknown. And, when we use our imagination, we can feel like we are playing like children in Godā€™s immeasurable Kingdom.

We are called to be like children in Scripture and we are designed to play. We are healed by the laughter and we are lifted by the joy. We are hardwired to play and do so with healthy competition and the fulfillment of community as we engage with others. Play activates our imagination and Godā€™s Creative Spirit to pour out everything we need to address the challenges of our day. ā™„

Creativity: Thankful for Godā€™s Spirit

Everyone is creative whether they believe it or not.

We are made in Godā€™s image; He creates and so do we. Itā€™s time to step-up and stand in who we are made to be, and a big part of that is to exercise our creativity. First, we need to understand it.

Creativity is defined on Wikipedia as: a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created item may be intangible (such as an idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition, or a joke) or a physical object (such as an invention, a literary work, or a painting).

A phenomenon. What a great word to use for the Creative Spirit. When we engage in creativity we are healed, we are informed, we are enlightened, we escape into all the devil hates about humanity. We find solutions for all manner of lifeā€™s problems and we learn to love from Godā€™s perspective. Yes, creativity can do all of that.

We must understand that artists arenā€™t the only creative people on the planet. They have talents and skills focused on art industries, but they are not alone. Mothers and fathers are creative in parenting, Mechanics are creative in building, pilots are creative in flying, chefs are creative in cooking, doctors are creative in healing, and list goes on. As a matter of fact, you are creative too.
